Our Products
Natural Stone: as the name suggests, these products are sold as nature makes them, whereby most of the stones have primarily smooth edges. Natural stone (which is often referred to as round rock) is well suited to landscaping and comes in a variety of sizes as follows:
Rip Rap is natural rock that ranges from 1½ inches to 24 inches in diameter. It is screened and sorted by size making it suitable for a variety of uses from flower beds and general landscaping to shoreline restoration and terracing.
Boulders are natural rocks that range from 24 inches to 48 inches in diameter. Note that due to their weight, special equipment is required to haul and place these stones.
Round Rock is sorted, screened and washed. It ranges from 3/8 inch to 1½ inches in diameter and is regularly used in a variety of landscaping applications. Round rock provides a clean, natural look and is “easier on bare feet” when used in walkways.
Crushed stone: these products have been run through our crushers to create uniformly sized stone with angular edges. Crushed stone tends to stay in place a bit better than round rock.
Crushed Landscaping Rock is a screened and washed product that ranges in size from 3/8 inch to 1½ inches. It is marked by angular edges and fractured faces which give the stone a more linear look. Like round rock, it is a very common choice for general landscaping. One advantage to crushed rock is that it tends to stay in place a bit better than its natural (round) counterpart.
Seal Coat is our smallest crushed stone product. It is washed and screened, and ranges from 1/8 inch to 3/8 inch. It is most often used in play areas, pathways and fire pits. Seal coat is sometimes referred to as “pea rock” due to its size.
Granite is a recycled product that is crushed to 3/8 inch to 3/4 inch in diameter. Native to the St. Cloud, MN area, this product varies a great deal in terms of color and is not always available. Please call our office to check availability.
Other Landscaping Materials
Fill Dirt is a combination of sand, rock and small clumps, sold as it naturally occurs in the ground (which makes it very affordable). The combination of materials found in fill dirt makes it a great material for “filling” ditches or other low areas that are being prepared for landscaping or seeding.
Washed Sand provides home owners with a clean, easy-to-use material that is uniform in color and consistency—perfect for sandboxes, beaches* and more. This material is washed and contains particles no larger than 1/8 inch.
*The Department of Natural Resources provides specific limitations as to where (and how much) sand can be deposited near or on shorelines. Please contact a DNR representative for more information about these regulations.
